BarCamp And markedUP

So, after coming back from a really cheap, great Mexican restaurant (that had no margaritas, much to Ken's disappointment)...

... we walked into the Barcamp TX presentation room, only to find a police officer locking it up o.0

It was about 9:00PM when we finally got there though, and totally assumed the BarCamp was over. But after riding the elevator up to  Always Creative's offices, the party had obviously just begun. Pretty much everyone had migrated there and tapped the keg that seemed to flow with unlimited amounts of beer, and were generally just having a good time.

But damn it, we had revolutionary news. We're going to turn the industry on it's ear. And damn it! We wanted to hear what the BarCampers had to say about it!Generated CSS Framework Using Ruby

So at the last minute, after everyone was already getting good and drunk, we threw together what we needed to give our presentation. The projector was overheating, there was limited seating (with standing room only after we started), and everyone was hella tired. I think I even saw someone nodding off in our presentation, or at least, he was thinking really hard about it all. But all in all, it rocked. As soon as we got through explaining what it is that we're doing, and showed the power of our CSS Framework in a live FireFox/Firebug demo, people started really paying attention. We got some great feedback, got to answer some great questions, and we've made some great business contacts (OrgSync, OpMom, and HopeShow to name a few).

So thanks to everyone who stuck around for our presentation!

I had a lot of questions as to when the Custom Framework will be available, and when the GUI tool we'll be creating for it will be available as well. At the moment, I thought I'd show you guys a sneak peak of the current completely generated directory structure. There's TONS more to do, but the brunt of the grid system is in there, as well as the organized directory structure and javascripts generation.

We've got a lotta tests to write, and a lot of work ahead of us, but no worries! We'll be busting ass generating more and more of the framework as we move ahead.

BTW... even though my growl notifications for my rspec tests have a Ruby On Rails icon, our application stack is actually using Ruby, Merb, DataMapper and PostgreSQL :) I'm just too damn lazy to fix that shit ;)

Anywho, thanks again for the great time BarCamp! It rocked!

I may work here full time, but I can't deny the usefulness of the GraffitiCMS as easily one of the simplest, most powerful CMS's I've used in quite some time.
